PITTSBURGH (AP) — New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist will start Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, three days after injuring his right eye in a 5-2 loss in Game 1.
Lundqvist left after the first period on Wednesday when teammate Marc Staal's stick made its way in between the bars on Lundqvist's goalie mask. Lundqvist saw a specialist on Thursday and practiced with the team on Friday. The game Saturday is Lundqvist's franchise-record 112th consecutive postseason start in net.
The Penguins will turn to backup Jeff Zatkoff once again with Marc-Andre Fleury still recovering from a concussion sustained on March 31. Zatkoff made 35 saves in Game 1 in the first playoff appearance of his career.
