NEW YORK (AP) — Chicago White Sox pitcher Kameron Loe has received an 80-game suspension for a positive test under baseball's minor league drug program.
A nine-year big league veteran, Loe signed with the White Sox on March 3 and is on the roster of Triple-A Charlotte. He tested positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone metabolite and Methasterone, the commissioner's officer said Tuesday.
The 34-year-old, 6-foot-9 right-hander is 34-43 with a 4.49 ERA in 48 starts and 274 relief appearances for Texas (2004-08), Milwaukee (2010-12), and Seattle, the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta (2013). He spent 2014 in Kansas City's minor league system and pitched for Bridgeport in the independent Atlantic League last year.
There have been 27 suspensions this year for violations of the minor league program.
