NEW YORK (AP) — Irish Jasper won the Belle Harbor for 3-year-old fillies on Sunday, one of the trio of $100,000 stakes on closing day at Aqueduct.

Possessed, the 6-5 favorite, and Take Issue, 14-1, captured the New York Stallion Stakes for 3-year-olds.

The winning margin was identical in each of the 6 1/2-furlong stakes: one length.

Irish Jasper sprung a 13-1 upset for owner-trainer Derek Ryan. Kendrick Carmouche was aboard as she rallied from last in the five-horse field to notch her fourth win in seven starts. She paid $28.40 to win. The time was 1:16.85.

Possessed overcame a bumpy start to get his second win in seven tries. He held off Organic Gemini in the colt and gelding division of the N.Y. Stallion Stakes with Jose Ortiz in the saddle for trainer Charlton Baker.

The 6-5 favorite paid $4.70 to win, his second victory in seven tries. The time was 1:17.32.

Take Issue took the filly division in a 14-1 upset despite having won her previous two races. She outkicked The Lewis Dinner, the even-money favorite, in 1:18.15. It was her third straight win since trainer Steve Asmussen switched to jockey Junior Alvarado.

New York racing shifts to Belmont Park on Wednesday for the meet that features the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes, the final leg of the Triple Crown, on June 6.
