Dream Team keeps it in Baffert family with Los Alamitos win

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — Dream Team won the $48,691 feature by 3 1/4 lengths for trainer Bob Baffert on closing day of the 12-day spring meet at Los Alamitos on Sunday.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Dream Team ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.23 and paid $9.80, $4.20 and $3 as the 7-2 third choice. The 4-year-old colt is co-owned by Baffert's wife Jill.

Dreaming of Gold returned $3.60 and $2.60 as the 2-1 second choice, while 2-1 favorite Noble Kent was another 5 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.60 to show.

Dream Team won for the second time in seven career starts and increased his earnings to $78,860.

Baffert and Bejarano teamed to win an earlier race on the card with Fantasy of Luck.

Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux won the meet's riding title with 10 victories, two more than Edwin Maldonado.

Doug O'Neill and Mark Glatt tied for the training title with six victories apiece.
