Coyotes reach AHL affiliation agreement with Springfield

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes have signed a multi-year affiliation agreement with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

The Coyotes had been affiliated with the Portland (Maine) Pirates since 2011.

The Springfield Falcons currently serve as the AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Springfield franchise was founded in 1994 and is tied for the AHL's fifth-longest tenured team. The Falcons have qualified for the postseason eight times in their 21-year history.
