AMSTERDAM (AP) — Ajax gave away the lead twice in a 2-2 draw with NEC Nijmegen on Sunday, squandering a chance to go back to the top of the Dutch Eredivisie.

With league leader PSV Eindhoven only managing a 1-1 draw with Heerenveen on Saturday, a win would have sent Ajax top. Instead, PSV remained in first position by a single point after 27 rounds.

PSV and Ajax play each other next weekend in a match that will likely go a long way to deciding the league title.

Arek Milik gave Ajax the lead in the 16th, but Navarone Foor equalized three minutes later. A Rens van Eijden own goal put Ajax back in front before Christian Santos ensured both teams would earn a point with an 82nd-minute strike.
