SALT LAKE CITY — David Stockton became a fan favorite (for good reason) with the Utah Jazz during the 2017-18 season, signing a pair of 10-day contracts that eventually became a year-long deal at the end of the season.

But it appears his time in a Jazz uniform is over — at least for now.

Multiple reports have linked the son of legendary Jazz point guard John Stockton with a move to Medi Bayreitch in Germany’s BBL. European basketball outlet Sportando was the first to report the move.

Stockton played in just three games for the Jazz during their end-of-season run that ended in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs, averaging 3.3 points in three minutes per contest. He became a restricted free agent in the offseason, but Utah filled up its roster with several new signings in the offseason, including former SLC Stars two-way signee Georges Niang.

A 27-year-old native of Spokane, Washington, the 5-foot-11 Stockton played overseas in 2016-17, first in New Zealand and then in Croatia before returning to the United States. He also spent time in 2014 with the Sacramento Kings, playing in three games while averaging 2.7 points and 3.0 assists per game.

Stockton is currently scheduled to participate in a two-week, 29-city tour for the Jazz as part of the Junior Jazz program, going with teammate Royce O’Neale to parts of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming before he will be released to sign with the German club.
