COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Three Maryland basketball players have been granted requests to transfer: center Shaquille Cleare and guards Nick Faust and Roddy Peters.
The 6-foot-9 Cleare came to Maryland two years ago as a highly touted recruit but started only 28 of 69 career games. He averaged 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds as a sophomore this season.
The 6-6 Faust started 13 games as a junior this season. He averaged 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and two assists.
Peters appeared in all 32 games as a freshman, averaging 4.1 points and 2.1 assists in 15 minutes per game.
Coach Mark Turgeon says, "I really enjoyed coaching Nick, Shaq and Roddy. It is unfortunate that they will no longer be a part of the program."
