COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The BYU at San Diego State football game, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT, this Saturday, October 27, at Qualcomm Stadium, has been postponed until Saturday, December 1, 2007. Kick time and telecast details will be announced at a later date.
The decision to postpone the football contest was made today based upon currently available information relating to:
Federal and state emergency declaration
Air quality
Transportation considerations
Qualcomm Stadium availability
University closures
Displacement of evacuees
Student-athlete well-being
Fan safety
Competitive equity
"There is a far greater priority than sporting events in the San Diego area at this time," MWC Commissioner Craig Thompson said Tuesday. "The focus should be on emergency response and resources, and getting the community back on its feet. Our thoughts are with our colleagues at San Diego State University, as well as everyone who has been affected by this disaster."
