1. Man with violent history arrested in shooting death of University of Utah football player

A Salt Lake man who police say has an "extensive violent criminal history" was arrested Sunday in the shooting death of University of Utah football player Aaron Lowe. Buk Mawut Buk, 22, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated murder, attempted murder and discharge of a firearm.

2. 13 new temple locations announced by President Nelson as conference closes

Following the announcement of 13 new temples, the buzz among Latter-day Saints and invited guests leaving the Conference Center centered around the 28th temple coming to Utah. "The one that stood out was Heber Valley," said Scott Paswaters, a Salt Lake resident.

3. 1 dead in single vehicle rollover near Mountain Green

One person is dead after a single-vehicle rollover near Mountain Green, Utah Highway Patrol said Sunday. The truck towing a trailer was southbound on Trappers Loop Road when the truck left the roadway and the driver was unable to get back on the road and trailer overturned, according to a Utah Highway Patrol press release.

4. Missing Zion National Park hiker found after making calls to 911 and family, rangers say

A 79-year-old man who had been missing since Tuesday called 911 and his family before he was located by Air Force airmen flying over Zion National Park on Saturday afternoon, park officials said.

5. Man, 30, shot and killed during fight in Ogden

A 30-year-old man died of a gunshot wound early Saturday after an altercation with another man in Ogden. Officers responded to the area of 240 N. 180 East after receiving reports of a gunshot wound. Paramedics responded, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from Ogden police.

1. Welcome back to the Top 10, BYU: Cougars up 3 spots after chaotic week in AP Top 25

BYU rejoined some of the top teams in the country Sunday, surging to No. 10 in the latest AP Top 25 two days after improving to 5-0 with a 34-20 win over in-state rival Utah State in Logan. The Cougars also came in at No. 10 in the USA Today coaches' poll, rising five spots in a tumultuous week where 12 teams moved at least as many positions.

2. 'This is just the beginning': Aggies show fight in loss to Cougars

Utah State appeared outmatched on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and it showed in the run game. The Aggies mustered just 22 rushing yards on 35 carries, while BYU ran for 221 yards on 36 carries.

3. It'll be an emotional homecoming for Jordan Clarkson as Jazz start preseason in San Antonio

Jordan Clarkson's smile was infectious as he thought about returning home to San Antonio for Utah's preseason opener on Monday.

Preseason or not, home is still home.

4. Real Salt Lake takes frustrating road loss to last-place Austin FC

Cecilio Dominguez scored a goal in either half, and Austin FC earned a rare three points with a 2-1 home win Saturday afternoon over Real Salt Lake at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.

5. FCS roundup: Weisser accounts for 4 TDs as Weber State beats Cal Poly

Kylan Weisser threw two touchdown passes and added a pair of TD runs to help Weber State beat Cal Poly 38-7 on Saturday night. Plus, updates on Southern Utah and Dixie State.
