OGDEN — A 30-year-old man died of a gunshot wound early Saturday after an altercation with another man in Ogden.

At 12:01 a.m. officers responded to the area of 240 N. 180 East after receiving reports of a gunshot wound. Paramedics responded, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from Ogden police.

A preliminary investigation indicates the 30-year-old man was shot during a fight with a 31-year-old man who then fled the scene, according to police. Police say they've identified the gunman and said there's nothing to suggest there is any ongoing threat to the public.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released.

Ogden police and the Weber Homicide Task Force are investigating the killing.
