LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say the marriage license bureau in Las Vegas will begin accepting license applications at 2 p.m. Wednesday from same-sex couples.

The bureau is part of the Clark County clerk's office. It had already prepared gender-neutral marriage license applications, licenses and certificates ahead of a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling Tuesday that struck down Nevada's same-sex marriage ban.

Washoe County Clerk Nancy Parent in Reno says her office also has gender-neutral paperwork prepared.

The actions come with a judge in Nevada expected yet to issue a final order invalidating a 2002 constitutional ban on gay marriage.

Gov. Brian Sandoval says it could be two weeks before that order is issued.

Several of the eight Nevada couples in the lawsuit say they're elated they can marry after many years together.
