COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — The Lowndes County School Board has approved Feb. 3 as the date for another bond issue election with details to come later.
The school board voted 3-2 Monday to "save the date" for the election.
The Commercial Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/1BwMxEg ) Superintendent Lynn Wright told board members that they will be presented later with the list of projects and how much it will cost.
On Aug. 27, school district voters rejected a $47 million bond proposal that would have built a new vocational center and a new high school at New Hope, as well as numerous capital improvements throughout the district. In that election, 51.87 percent voted for the bond, which required a 60-percent approval for passage.
Board president Jane Kilgore says the details should be worked out soon.
