BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a lightning strike injured three South Florida firefighters.
Boca Raton Fire Rescue Services Assistant Chief Michael LaSalle told The Palm Beach Post (http://goo.gl/9Taa2e) the firefighters were responding to a backyard fire sparked by lightning Tuesday afternoon when another strike occurred.
All three firefighters were knocked off their feet and one started having a seizure. Two others sustained minor injuries and were suffering hearing problems.
The firefighters were taken to a Delray Beach hospital for treatment. LaSalle says it appears they will all recover.
