From Spanish Fork to the Super Bowl: Brothers live out halftime show dance dream

SPANISH FORK — It was a fast-paced, high-energy performance on one of the biggest stages in the world. Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show surpassed the record with more than 135 million viewers. For Vince Castillo, it was a moment years in the making. "It was a very beautiful, overwhelming experience, especially to represent the Latino culture," he said. Vince and his older brother Chris have been dancing since they were kids — getting their start at Heart N Soul Dance on Main Street in Spanish Fork. "From the living room to everywhere we went, we were always dancing," he said. Since then, both have worked on major projects, from music videos to award shows like the Oscars, and now to the Super Bowl. "It's been amazing getting to dance side by side," Vince said. This was Chris's third Super Bowl halftime show, but for Vince, it was a first, performing alongside hundreds of dancers in front of a worldwide audience."Just looking up and seeing people on the very top row and every seat was full, and I was just like, this is gonna be crazy," he said. The preparation for the show was intense, with rehearsals lasting nearly a month, often 10 hours a day. Vince added that working with a superstar like Bad Bunny made the experience even more unforgettable. "After the performance, he actually came back and just said a couple more words of appreciation, which, when you work with artists, that's pretty rare," he said. "We actually got to feel that he was as invested in us as we were in his performance." He hopes their journey inspires others. "We're two brothers from Spanish Fork, and we just did the Super Bowl," he said. "If you want to do something, put your mind and heart to it. You can do it." Castillo said he's looking forward to his next gigs and is excited for his brother, Chris, who's heading out on tour with Shakira.
