This July 4th marks a once-in-a-generation milestone for our country — the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
To commemorate the occasion, America250 Utah is partnering with communities across the state to host more than 100 events from June 27 through July 5, giving Utahns opportunities to celebrate, reflect, and connect with their neighbors.
From special festivities at the Utah State Capitol to hometown traditions, patriotic programs, and community gatherings, more than 150 Utah communities are contributing to this historic moment.
Here's a preview of some of the events happening statewide over the next few weeks.
Special events at the Utah State Capitol
The Utah State Capitol will be leading the charge in celebrations, with special grand openings, festive lighting, musical events and more. Upcoming festivities include:
The Museum of Utah Grand Opening
On June 27, Utahns will celebrate the nation's 250th by opening the doors to a brand-new museum on the Utah Capitol Complex. During the festivities, visit the America250 Utah booth to make a wish for the next 250 years as part of a community flag.
Light to Unite
From July 3–5, the Utah State Capitol building will be illuminated each evening in a vibrant red, white, and blue patriotic theme.
Music Elevated with the Utah Symphony
Start your weekend with a free concert at the Capitol on Friday, July 3 at 8:30 p.m to celebrate the music and composers that define America's artistic spirit. The concert is presented by the Utah Symphony and Opera in partnership with America250 Utah.
Events across Utah's 29 counties
You don't have to live near Salt Lake City to take part in the celebrations. Wherever you are, there's something for everyone to enjoy this momentous occasion for the country.

Interdependence Day: Ice cream social and talent whow in Garfield County
While others focus on independence, Garfield County is honoring interdependence by celebrating how tight-knit rural communities rely on one another. Hosted by Hell's Backbone Grill, this event brings people together for ice cream and a community talent show on July 1.

Spark the Spirit Challenge in American Fork
Running throughout the summer, this is a citywide, interactive community challenge hosted via the Beanstack app. Residents of all ages participate by completing simple acts of kindness, learning about local history, and joining in community events. Anyone who completes 15 activities across American Fork wins a prize!

Farmers Market concert and bike parade in Bountiful
This event blends local commerce with patriotic fun. On July 2, residents are invited to gather at Bountiful's local farmers market for live music and fresh food, complete with a kids' bike parade. Youth can decorate their bicycles, scooters, and wagons in red, white, and blue.
Field of Flags in Vernal
Enjoy Vernal's Field of Flags patriotic display, featuring over 500 American flags at Freestone Walking Park from June 27 to July 6. Join the community on Sunday, June 28 at 6 p.m. for a patriotic program. Flags can be dedicated with a yellow ribbon in honor of a veteran or special person.
America250 Apple Days celebration in Torrey
Torrey's annual Apple Days is a great way to celebrate America250. It includes a parade, fireworks, a patriotic program and quilt show, an Apple Days dance, a stargazing party, and an ice cream social. The celebration runs July 3–5.

Colonial Heritage Fest in Orem
If you want to get truly immersed in history, this one's for you. The Colonial Heritage Festival in Orem is the nation's largest living-history celebration of the nation's founding west of the original 13 colonies. The family-friendly festivities include candle-dipping, grinding wheat, signing the Declaration of Independence, and afternoon tea with the Founding Fathers. Colonial Heritage Fest runs July 2–4 at SCERA Park.

America 250 Community Tile Mural Project in Midway
On July 3-4 seniors and festival attendees are invited to hand-paint individual tiles that will form a permanent mural depicting an American eagle in front of the U.S. flag. With partial funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and matched by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, the completed mural will be installed at the Wasatch County Parks and Recreation Center, creating a lasting, community-generated artwork in a highly accessible public space.
Stars and Stripes Forever - 13 Days of Celebration in Iron County
Beginning with the 10th anniversary of Southern Utah Museum of Art and the 65th anniversary of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and running for two weeks in Cedar City. Events include free swimming, fireworks, movie night, and a playlist lecture featuring 250 songs curated by SUU professors. The celebration runs June 26-July 8.

One special unifying statewide event: America's Potluck
A Utah-led initiative to foster dialogue, belonging and connection over a shared meal with family, friends and neighbors is happening throughout the state — and in all 50 states across the country — on Sunday, July 5.
