Citigroup Inc. said consumer-banking head Marjorie Magner, who ran the New York-based company's most profitable unit, is leaving after almost 20 years.

Magner, 56, will depart Oct. 1. She will be succeeded by Ajay Banga, 45, and Steven Freiberg, 48.
