Dr. Kim Mulvihill reporting There's been much news lately about the flu vaccine shortage. Another vaccine can help reduce the risk of pneumonia.
State and federal health officials are making an effort to remind everyone about the pneumococcal vaccine.
Sue Nicodemus is with the Salt Lake County Health Department. She says, "Within all age groups influenza or pneumonia rank in the top ten leading causes of death."
"We recommend everyone over the age 65 receive the pneumococcal vaccine."
