LONDON, Aug 16, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Tuesday was not a particularly happy birthday for Madonna, who broke several bones when she was thrown from a horse on her British estate.
Madonna was hospitalized with a broken collarbone, fractured hand and suffered three cracked ribs, E! Online reported.
Her publicist Liz Rosenberg said Madonna would probably remain in the unidentified facility through the night.
The pop star was celebrating her 47th birthday with her family when she was thrown from the horse, E! said. She was rushed to an area hospital by her husband, Guy Ritchie.
Her next album, "Confessions on a Dance Floor" is scheduled for November release.
