**KSL NEWSRADIO 1160 ANNOUNCES BROADCAST TEAM FOR BYU FOOTBALL**NFL and BYU star Lewis, former Cougar standout Dye join crew

Salt Lake City - KSL Newsradio 1160 is pleased to announce that two of BYU’s most outstanding former players are returning to Edwards Stadium on the “home of the Cougars.” Former BYU tight end 3-time NFL Pro Bowl selection Chad Lewis will join KSL’s pregame coverage on the “Cougar Countdown Show,” starting two hours prior to kickoff on game day.
Lewis says “being associated with the BYU Football program has been one of the greatest things in my life. I’m excited to once again be close to the Cougars by joining the broadcast team at KSL.”
While at BYU, Lewis was a two-time All-WAC 1st Team selection at tight end, an Academic All-American, and an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholar. His career totals at BYU include 111 receptions for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns. He signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1997, catching 4 touchdowns as a rookie. After starting the 1998 season with the St. Louis Rams, Lewis rejoined the Eagles in 1999, earning Pro Bowl nods in 2001, 2002 and 2003. His two touchdown catches in the 2005 NFC Championship Game helped the Eagles to a Super Bowl berth. Lewis’ NFL career is “on hold” while he recovers from a foot injury suffered in the NFC title tilt.
KSL has also added record-setting BYU return specialist James Dye to the broadcast team. Dye was named an all-WAC 1st Team performer in 1995 and 1996, and led the nation in punt returns in 1995. He established a BYU standard by returning 5 kicks for touchdowns during his two years in Provo. Dye will report from the sidelines throughout the season and contribute to KSL’s other gameday programming. Dye says “I had an exciting experience as a player at BYU, and I look forward to being a part of the excitement surrounding the new-look Cougars on KSL.”
KSL’s Director of News and Programming, Russ Hill, says “there are very few names connected with BYU bigger than that of Chad Lewis. We're thrilled that he's joined the KSL Radio broadcast team. We're serious when we say we're enhancing our BYU sports coverage. Adding Chad and the incredibly talented and well-liked James Dye to our broadcasts is one part of that commitment."
Both Lewis and Dye will make occasional contributions to KSL’s exclusive internet-only BYU Sports talk show “CougarRadio,” heard only on ksl.com, Tuesdays and Thursday at 1:00pm MT throughout the college football season.
Lewis and Dye join a broadcast crew that returns play-by-play announcer Greg Wrubell and color analyst Marc Lyons. Wrubell mans the mike for his 5th season in the booth, while Lyons returns for a 25th year on the airwaves.
