SALT LAKE CITY (February 22, 2007) - Utah Jazz senior vice president of basketball operations, Kevin O'Connor, announced today that the team has acquired Alan Henderson from the Philadelphia 76ers for the right to exchange second-round draft picks in the 2007 NBA Draft. In addition, the Jazz will receive cash considerations from the 76ers.

The 6-9 center out of Indiana has played in 34 games with five starts for the 76ers this season, averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.7 minutes per game.

Henderson was originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round (16th pick overall) in the 1995 NBA Draft. In his 12-year NBA career, he has played for Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas and Philadelphia and has averaged 7.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 21.2 minutes in 648 games.

According to Tim Buckley of the Deseret Morning News, Henderson is expected to be waived by the Jazz.
