Does your holiday season come with thoughts of family arguments and stress? Here are some helpful tips to change conflict into harmony. You can make the holidays happy and peaceful by remembering the 4 C's. These tips will help combat some natural tendencies that negatively impact family relationships.

1. Don't compare. Don't compare yourself to in-laws, neighbors, and friends. The minute you compare yourself to brothers and sisters it causes a lot of problems. Especially a comparison between yourself and your in-laws.

2. Don't compete. How do you ever compete with family members and win? Competition is not a great relationship builder.

3. Don't complain. Even if the food isn't he way you think it should be, just smile. There is always next year and eventually you may be the one who gets to host everything.

4. Don't' critique. Don't talk negatively about your in-laws. You probably know what it feels like to have your partner or children not want to go somewhere that you felt obligated to go. Critiquing only makes these types of situations worse.
