WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- The ECHL announced Wednesday that Utah forward Ryan Kinasewich has been named the league's Reebok Hockey Player of the Month for October.

Kinasewich led the ECHL with nine goals, including three game-winners, in just five October games. In total, he had 14 points (nine goals, five assists) in October; including four of five games where he recorded three points or more. In total this year, the Grizzlies captain has recorded multiple-points in five of six Utah contests as the team has matched their best start since joining the ECHL with a 4-2 record.

The honor marks the third time that Kinasewich has been named the league's player of the month; previously winning the award in February of 2006 and January of 2009. In 229 total ECHL games spanning six seasons, the 26-year-old has 133 goals and 174 assists for 307 total points. Kinasewich has 117 goals and 152 assists for 269 points in 187 games played with Utah.

The fifth-year Utah forward became the team's all-time leading goal scorer October 24 with his 112th goal in team history. After two assists in Utah's third-straight win, 5-2 over Idaho last night, he is currently nine points away from tying Chris Taylor at 278 points in a Utah sweater to become the all-time leading scorer in the 15-year history of the organization.

Kinasewich and the Grizzlies go for their fourth-straight win Friday when they welcome back Idaho to the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
