The BYU hoopsters assembled to meet and greet the media this afternoon at Legends Grille, two days ahead of the official start of sanctioned practices.
BYU's two captains for the season ahead are junior wing Jackson Emery and senior point guard LaMont Morgan, both of whom I interviewed, and whose interviews you can hear by clicking their links in the "Cougar Cuts" box to the lower right.
I also chatted with junior preseason MWC Player of the Year Jimmer Fredette and freshman Tyler Haws.

My KSL colleague Randolph Fairbairn was also on hand, and he got interviews with head coach Dave Rose, senior Jonathan Tavernari, freshman Noah Hartsock and sophomore Charles Abouo.

Not a lot to report in the way of news, and since I've been watching these guys play together for a number of weeks already, it's as if practice has been underway for a while now. Suffice it to say all the guys are ready to roll on Friday; I encourage you to have a listen to their interviews and get a feel for their preseason vibe.
By the way, Morgan's interview opens with him responding to a question about his captaincy, while Haws starts by talking about his overall readiness for college basketball.
