Wells Fargo ranks number one among banks and insurance companies - and thirteenth overall - in Newsweek magazine's inaugural Green Rankings of the country's 500-largest companies.
Wells Fargo has been working hard to develop programs and practices that help reduce environmental impacts and increase focus on sustainability.
Thousands of Wells Fargo employees have embraced environmental stewardship by considering how their everyday work impacts the environment and becoming involved in community events to clean up parks as well as other activities that make a difference locally.
As one of the world's 40 largest employers, Wells Fargo feels it has a responsibility to lead by example. The ranking by Newsweek shows that being thoughtful, environmental stewards will contribute to Wells Fargo's strong reputation for being a company that cares about our community.
Since 2006, the company has provided more than $5 billion to support environmentally beneficial business opportunities.
