NEW YORK, Jan 18, 2007 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Forbes Magazine, known for its lists of the richest in the United States, the world and the afterlife, has another one -- the 20 richest female entertainers.

The magazine excluded stars like Barbra Streisand and Elizabeth Taylor whose glory days are behind them and whose income now comes from royalties and investments. The 20, from Oprah Winfrey at No. 1 to Renee Zellweger bringing up the rear, are all still working.

Most of the women got their fortunes by diversifying, like Winfrey with her magazine and production business, and Britney Spears, who has endorsement income and a perfume line. J.K. Rowling, who follows Winfrey on the list, has reaped the profits as Harry Potter has gone from being a children's book hero to a franchise.

Also on the list are Martha Stewart, Madonna, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston. The list also features the Olsen Twins, Judge Judy, Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, Ellen DeGeneres, Nicole Kidman and Christina Aguilera.
