TOOELE, Utah (AP) -- Points leader Jon Fogarty won his fourth straight pole Friday for the Utah 250, a Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series race at Miller Motorsports Park.

Fogarty, co-driving a Pontiac Riley with Alex Gurney, navigated the 24-turn, 4.486-mile road course west of Salt Lake City in a near-record time of 2:35.737. It was nearly a second quicker than the second fastest qualifier, Timo Bernhard, who teamed with Romain Dumas.

Fogarty and Gurney have a five-point lead over two teams and four competitors entering Saturday's 2-hour, 45-minute race, the next-to-last stop on the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series schedule.

Their closest competitors both qualified on the second row of the 24-car grid. Memo Rojas and co-driver Scott Pruett will start third in a Lexus Riley, with Brian Frisselle and Max Angelelli fourth in a Ford Dallara.
