BYU is one of 47 undefeated FBS teams today (one of 38 2-0 squads) heading into the Cougars' opener at Lavell Edwards Stadium, where BYU has won 18 in a row--the third longest current home streak in the country.

BYU's win at Tulane Saturday represented only the second time in the Bronco Mendenhall era (and the first time in almost four years) that the Cougars had at least 200 yards rushing (206) and at least 300 yards passing (321). BYU is 2-0 under Bronco in 200/300 games, and since 1972, BYU is now 36-0 when reaching that particular plateau.

When rushing for 200 yards or more, BYU is now 94-7 since 1972, and 11-1 under Mendenhall (the one loss was to Utah last season; 214 rush yards in the 48-24 setback).

The Tallahassee Democrat notes that Florida State has allowed 12 pass plays of 20+ yards in only two games, and coach Bobby Bowden has pronounced himself "very concerned," with Max Hall and BYU next on the agenda: "Their quarterback can throw that ball," Bowden said.

Also from the Democrat:

"Senior defensive end Kevin McNeil, who made two big plays (v. Jacksonville State) that included (a) touchdown return...said he was not concerned about the FSU defense entering the BYU game.

"Am I concerned? No," he said. "I know how hard we work. I feel as if nobody in America has outworked each week in the weight room and the film room and everything else. We got to put it all together."

BYU Photographers Mark Philbrick and Jaren Wilkey put together impressive slide shows after every BYU Football game. While it might detract from their greatness, they accompany the tremendous pictures with some of the radio calls from the game.

Check out their latest work right here (click the "play" button to hear the audio). You can also click on "View Other Slide Shows" to see the Oklahoma game recap and other gallery photos.

If you like what you see (and I know you will), make sure you bookmark the page and make their slideshow site a regular stopping point this season.

I stated that BYU's punt-free game at Tulane was its third since 1972--that was wrong. Saturday's game was actually BYU's sixth without a punt since Lavell took over in '72:

1983 Air Force

1990 CSU

1990 Air Force

1996 SMU

2001 CSU

2009 Tulane (only non-league opponent)
