OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- John Ofoegbu scored 16 points to lead Idaho State to a 58-55 win over Weber State on Thursday night.
David Schroeder made a pair of free throws for the Bengals (6-8, 1-0 Big Sky) to put them ahead by three with 15.9 seconds remaining.
Weber State's Dezmon Harris missed a 3-pointer just before the buzzer that would have tied the game. The Wildcats (9-7, 2-1) had one more shot, inbounding the ball with .3 seconds left but Harris desperation shot missed again.
Schroeder finished with 13 points and Akbar Abdul-Ahad scored 10.
Tyler Billings led the Wildcats with 15 points off the bench while Harris finished with 10.
ISU, which outrebounded WSU 35-27, trailed 51-45 with about seven minutes left before Ofoegbu scored four straight points to start a 7-0 run that gave the Bengals the lead for good.
Weber State took 16 of its 28 shots in the first half from behind the arc, but made only six of them. The Wildcats still led 36-30 at halftime.
