Press releaseSALT LAKE CITY -- KJZZ-TV is partnering with Farmers Insurance Group, Inc. to produce live coverage of 10 local regular season high school football games, titled Farmers Insurance Game of the Week, in addition to the region playoffs and the 3A, 4A and 5A state championship games.
"KJZZ is proud to once again be able to offer extensive coverage of local high school sports to our viewers. We are especially grateful to our title sponsor, Farmers Insurance Group, for helping make this coverage possible. Together, KJZZ and Farmers are dedicated to highlighting these student athletes who work so hard to make a positive impact in our local communities," said KJZZ-TV General Manager Chris Baum.
The regular season games that will be broadcast live will begin August 21 and run through late October, when playoff coverage will begin. During each broadcast, a Farmers Insurance Game of the Week student athlete will be honored for his or her achievements both in the classroom and in their given sport.
"Farmers is honored to be a part of a program that highlights the top student athletes in the state and to have the opportunity to recognize the children who will be the leaders of the future," said John Henle, Utah State Executive Director for Farmers Insurance. "Providing coverage of high school athletics is a great way for our Utah agents and district managers to give back to our communities and we appreciate the opportunity to work with KJZZ in order to make that happen."
