NEW YORK (AP) -- Major League Soccer says it has suspended Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis for one game and fined him $3,000 for actions that led to his ejection from a game against FC Dallas last Friday.

Kreis was dismissed from the game in the 73rd minute because of a verbal confrontation with officials. The penalties handed down Friday are in addition to the one-game suspension and $500 fine Kreis received automatically for the ejection.

Kreis will miss Real Salt Lake's game at Chicago on Saturday and a home contest versus Seattle Sounders FC on Aug. 8.

Seattle midfielder Freddie Ljungberg was fined $500 for failing to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner after being issued a red card in the 59th minute against Chicago last Saturday.

The U.S. Soccer Foundation is the recipient of player fines.
