CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) - David Marek scored 16 points, leading Southern Utah to a 74-48 win over Texas A&M International on Saturday night.
Nurudeen Adepoju scored 12 points for the Thunderbirds (8-3), who have won five of their last six and are unbeaten at home this season.
Angel Encinas scored 12 points to lead the Dustdevils (5-2), who play in the Division II Heartland Conference.
Coming off the bench as a primary substitute for suspended starter Justin Allen, Marek went 4-for-5 from 3-point range.
Southern Utah shot 52 percent from the field and went 11-for-15 on 3-point attempts.
The Thunderbirds dominated the board with a 41-21 advantage.
Southern Utah started slow, missing six of its first eight shots and trailing 11-4 less than six minutes into the game.
Orlando Griego's layup with 14:38 to play in the first half began a 15-0 spurt for the Thunderbirds. Griego followed with a jumper from the right wing, while Marcus Carson and Marek hit 3-pointers during the run.
