High jumper from Utah signs with Argo Track team

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) -- University of Great Falls cross-country and track and field coach Jim Brewer has announced the signing of Tyler Burns to an NAIA/Frontier Conference Letter of Intent for the 2009-10 season.

Burns joins the University of Great Falls program from Weber High School in North Ogden, Utah, where he was a state championship qualifier in the high jump for three straight years.

He captured first place with a jump of 6 feet, 6 inches at the City County Track Meet; and in the Region I Championships he finished second with a jump of 6-4.

Burns also played football and was voted to the All-Region Football team.
