This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

"Choose foods that are right for you!" "Feel good about the food you put in your body!" These slogans represent the business philosophy of UFood Grill in Draper. The eatery tells its diners that to feel great, they should eat smart, and it provides the cuisine to do just that.

I visited with Delmark Matthews, chief operating officer of the Rocky Mountain UFood store in Draper. He told me the eatery's origins lie with a trio of friends in Boston. They were in the sports nutrition retail business and decided that their customers also wanted a restaurant where they could find mainstream food prepared in a healthy way. Their new restaurant found immediate success. It also caught the attention of George Naddaff, franchising guru and founder of Boston Market.

In 2004, the trio teamed up with George to found KnowFat Franchise Company. The company's name changed to UFood Grill, emphasizing healthy eating and placing more of a spotlight on what had always been the most important thing — serving delicious food. Delmark stressed that UFood's concept is to offer food where "delicious" meets "nutritious." Great care is taken to use the most wholesome ingredients available to create minimally-processed products.

Delmark explained that nothing is fried at Ufood. All food is either baked, grilled or steamed and is free of trans fats. The menu features six kinds of burgers, five signature sandwiches, whole-grain rice bowls, wraps and roll-ups and grilled entrees. A wide selection of side dishes is available, and the entrees come with your choice of two sides. I noticed the eatery also offers a kids menu, nutrient-rich smoothies and soft serve yogurt.

I opted for the honey mustard chicken with the oven-baked fries and seasoned black beans. It was tasty! UFood Grill knows that people want food fast, prepared the way they like it. And they want to feel good about the food they put into their body.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
