LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Jaycee Carroll scored 22 points to lead six Aggies in double figures as Utah State defeated Idaho State 83-46 Saturday night.
Durrall Peterson scored 17 for USU (6-1), and Stephen DuCharme had 11. Chris Session had 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds.
The Bengals (2-5) shot only 7-of-28 in the second half. Meanwhile, USU had 14 steals, 10 in the second half, many of which ended in layups for the Aggies. USU shot 56 percent from the field in the second half.
ISU attempted 18 shots from behind the 3-point line, making four, while USU shot 9-of-17 from 3-point range, led by five from Peterson and four from Carroll.
In the first half, the Aggies went on a 14-2 run, highlighted by eight consecutive points by Carroll and a technical foul on the Bengal bench. ISU fought back behind the inside play of John Ofoegbu, though USU kept pace and led 47-26 at halftime.
Ofoegbu scored 15 points to lead ISU in scoring.
USU shot 64 percent for the game and Carroll was 7-of-8 from the field.
