We hope you'll indulge us as we use this editorial slot today to recognize and honor one of our own here at KSL.

Our long-time colleague and friend, Ed Yeates, is retiring after a very distinguished broadcasting career that spans 44-years in the Salt Lake City market. Indeed, since 1965, Ed has used his exceptional talents to report the news and keep viewers informed about important events and issues.

Such longevity is rare in today's fast-paced journalistic world.

Equally rare, though, are dedicated journalists like Ed who so thoroughly enjoy field reporting and dedicate an entire career to meeting daily deadlines and doing nightly reports. Ed, most certainly, is among the very best and most trusted reporters Utah has ever produced.

KSL viewers have benefitted from his keen interest in the sciences, especially his keeping us informed about the many remarkable advances occurring exponentially in medicine. Ed's gift for simplifying extremely complex matters and presenting them in ways that are both compelling and understandable will be deeply missed.

The entire KSL family is honored to have claimed Ed Yeates as one of their own for so many years. We all wish him the best as he moves on to this next phase of his productive life. We're also happy do know he'll still be on the air occasionally with a story for us.
