HOLLYWOOD, Nov 30, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman moved from No. 2 to No. 1 as the highest paid woman in the film industry as ranked by the Hollywood Reporter.
While Kidman moved to the top spot in the trade publication's annual rankings, Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon claimed the No. 2.
Julia Roberts, whose salary has reached $20 million a movie, has been the top female actor for the first four years of the trade publication's ranking. But she wasn't on the latest list at all, having taken a break from movies to perform on Broadway and care of her two children.
Kidman received nearly $17 million for her upcoming movie "The Invasion," scheduled for release next year. Witherspoon earned $15 million for her Oscar-winning role in this year's "Walk the Line."
The Hollywood Reporter's Top 10 are: Nicole Kidman, $16 million-$17 million; 2. Reese Witherspoon, $15 million; 3. Renee Zellweger, $15 million; 4. Drew Barrymore, $15 million; 5. Cameron Diaz, $15 million; 6. Halle Berry, $14 million; 7. Charlize Theron, $10 million; 8. Angelina Jolie, $10 million; 9. Kirsten Dunst, $8 million-$10 million; and 10. Jennifer Aniston, $8 million.
