LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Jaycee Carroll scored 26 points, 14 in the second half, to lead Utah State to a 77-68 win over in-state rival Weber State Saturday night.

Durrall Peterson also scored 14 and Chaz Spicer and Mikel Watson had 11 for the Aggies (4-1). Weber State (4-2) was led in scoring by Arturas Valeika with 16 points.

The Aggies stole the ball on three of the first four Wildcat possessions as the second half began, taking the lead 44-42 two minutes into the half.

USU then went on a 12-0 run, behind consecutive 3-point shots by Carroll and Watson to lead 56-42. Weber was able to close to 67-62, with 4:30 remaining, mostly behind close-range shots and free throws by Valeika, but was unable to get any closer to the Aggies.

Weber's leading scorer David Patten, who averages 13 points per game, was only able to score two points in the second half, and ended up with nine points, fouling out with five minutes left in the game.

In the first half, USU burst out to a 17-8 lead before Weber managed its first lead of the game, 20-19, when Tyler Billings dropped in a 3-point shot with 8:02 remaining. The teams then traded baskets, with the Wildcats taking a 37-35 lead at halftime.
