TEHRAN, Nov 24, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Confronted with the growing problem of pornographic DVDs, Iranian authorities Friday warned women to beware of hidden cameras in places where they undress.
Women were urged to be watchful in such places as fitting rooms, gyms and swimming pools, the BBC reports.
Iranian Police Chief Esmail Ahmadi Miqadam was quoted as saying in some shops, the owners themselves have installed such cameras.
The newspaper reported authorities as saying the country has been plagued by a wave of secretly filmed pornographic DVDs hitting markets and internet sites, while President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad continues his campaign to banish what he deems unwanted Western cultural influences.
