OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- David Patten scored a career-high 25 points in Weber State's 81-53 win over Montana Tech Wednesday night.

The Wildcats (4-1) used a 16-0 run midway through the first half to take a 29-9 lead. While the NAIA Orediggers answered with a 10-2 run, they never cut WSU's lead to less than 11 points.

Patten scored the final three baskets of the first half -- all dunks -- as WSU ended with 10 straight points to lead 37-24. Patten finished 11-of-14 from the field, including seven dunks.

Dan Henry scored 13 for WSU and Juan Pablo Silveira had 10 points.

Silveira started and ended a 10-0 run for WSU at the start of the second half. The Wildcats led by as many as 34 during the game, but Montana Tech had an 11-0 run fueled by a pair of 3-pointers from Nate Harris. But that only cut WSUs lead to 63-45 with 9:44 remaining.

Tony Trudnowski led Montana Tech with 11 points while Sam Conley added 10.

WSU outrebounded Montana Tech 38-22 with Patten and teammate Arturas Valeika grabbing a game-high seven.
