Washington, D.C. -- An advocacy group in Washington used some populist theater in issuing its annual expose of government pork barrel spending.
Citizens Against Government Waste brought out Winnie, Dudley and a tiny "pork barrel" to announce the release of its latest installment of the Congressional Pig Book.
The group says it reveals more than 10,000 earmarks worth more than $19 billion.
Some examples of pork in the 2009 pig book include: $1.8 million for swine odor and manure management research in Iowa and nearly $2 million for the Pleasure Beach water taxi service in Connecticut.
