This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

In 1976, after completing his orthodontic residency, Gayle Holman launched his own orthodontic practice. Holman Orthodontics was established in the Cottonwood Mall until Gayle moved the office to its present location in East Millcreek.

Shortly after opening his practice, Gayle started seeing patients in his Central Utah hometown, Moroni. The response was larger than he could have anticipated, and eventually he opened an office there. Then, to accommodate all of his patients from Davis County, Gayle opened a location there in the mid 1980s.

Immediately following high school, Brian Holman began working in his father's lab. He discovered he had a gift for working with his hands and decided orthodontics would be a fitting career choice. It was a long road to complete dental school and postdoctoral specialization, but two years ago Brian joined his father in the business. Having his father as a mentor has been priceless, Brian says, and they share a strong bond.

The doctors at Holman Orthodontics are dental specialists for the alignment of the teeth and jaws. Patients have a variety of braces they can choose from including clear braces and Invisalign. Patients range in age from children 7 or 8 years old to adults. In fact, Brian's oldest patient is 82 years old and loves the smile her braces are providing.

Technology has accounted for drastic improvements in orthodontic treatment, which make it faster and more comfortable. Currently, Holman Orthodontics is implementing temporary anchorage devices or small surgical screws that can be placed in the bone to achieve tooth movements that were difficult before. In the future, the practice will also implement 3-D radiology.

Individual attention is valued at Holman Orthodontics. Doctors Brian and Gayle customize their treatments and strive to involve both patients and parents. If requested, they even offer to meet after hours to accommodate the whole family's schedule.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
