This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

After fighting a successful battle with ovarian cancer, Teri Mounteer was invited to visit a local therapeutic exercise center with a friend. Almost instantly, both Teri and her friend began to see health improvements from working on the machines.

Inspired by his mother's success, Teri's son Cade Mounteer decided to open his own therapeutic exercise center. It took a few months to prepare the new business, from securing a location to contacting the equipment manufacturer, but Cade opened the doors on his business, Serenity Toning and Wellness Center, in October 2008.

Serenity Toning and Wellness Center offers 10 motorized therapeutic exercise machines. The machines are a combination of a physical therapy and isometric machine. Each machine isolates a portion of the body and works the targeted area through motorized movements. The exercises for all but one of the machines are performed lying down, so there's no strain on the muscles, joints or the back.

So far, Cade says the Kaysville center has been quite successful. His clientele is a mix of people coming for the health benefits of using the machines and others who come for toning and inch loss. For example, one of his clients suffers from Fibromyalgia and finds the machines provide pain relief. Another is a teenager with cerebral palsy who enjoys the therapeutic aspect of the machines.

Serenity Toning and Wellness Center is equipped with a little something for everyone. Cade negotiated with the manufacturer so he holds the rights for several geographical areas within the state. He hopes to open additional locations as the business becomes even more successful. Until then, Cade will continue serving patrons in the Kaysville area.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
