SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Sacramento State barely escaped a second-half comeback bid by Weber State as the Hornets beat the Wildcats 24-21 on Saturday.
Quarterback Marcel Marquez had 157 total offensive yards for the Hornets (2-3) who recorded their fourth straight home victory over Weber State. Marquez threw for 99 yards and one touchdown and ran for 58 yards and another score on the ground.
Shawn Woods threw for 178 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions for the Wildcats (2-4), who still lead the all-time series 7-4.
Sac State's Matt Lively had three punts over 50 yards, including a boot of 59 in the third quarter. Billy White caught four passes for 89 yards for the Hornets.
