Frankfurt (dpa) - The Frankfurt Book Fair opened its doors to the public Saturday, the second last day of the world's biggest trade fair for books.

Around 70,000 members of the public in search of a bargain book were expected to throng the vast Frankfurt exhibition site Saturday, the fourth day of the fair which ends Sunday.

On Friday 52,888 trade visitors attended the 58th edition of the event, making a total of 153,360 attendees during the three trade days. The figure was about 2,000 down on the 2005 figure.

The fair saw 7,272 exhibitors from 113 countries display almost 400,000 titles while India as Guest of Honour country promoted its culture and literature.
