NEW YORK, Oct 1, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Authors and New York book publishers, faced with a flood of new titles this fall, are turning to the Internet for marketing.
Fiction and non-fiction by authors John Grisham, James Patterson, Robert Ludlum and Margaret Atwood and others will vie for readers' attention and dollars between now and Thanksgiving, the Los Angeles Times said, raising the question of whether the market can handle such a flood.
This has led to more virtual ways to publicize the hope-for blockbusters -- Internet blogs -- in addition to traditional television and radio appearances, the Times said.
Authors have used the Internet for a while to reach out to audiences, but only now are publishing houses recognizing its marketing value, the Times said.
