NEW YORK, Sep 25, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A pink SpongeBob SquarePants plush toy is being released in the United States to raise awareness about breast cancer.

The New York Post said Monday the sales of the "SpongeBob PinkPants" Beanie Baby will be donated to cancer charities next week as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

SpongeBob is always a bright yellow tone in the Nickelodeon cartoon series of the same name.

The Beanies will go on sale to the public next month at most retailers and through Nickelodeon's nick.com Web site.
