STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A man in Colorado recently got quite a surprise while walking out to his work truck. Chilling in the front seat was a bear.
The video, which appeared to be recorded on a home security or doorbell camera, shows a man, Andy Kerrigan, walking out of a home in Steamboat Springs to his truck and opening the passenger front door. But as soon as he opens the door and looks in, he is startled by a bear inside.
After his initial shock, Kerring's first reaction was what any person would do: he pulled out his cell phone and recorded the bear. But after getting a few pictures, Kerring realizes the bear is not moving and tries to scare it off by slapping the side of his truck.
Kerring then walks around to the driver's side, where the bear meets him through the open window, again startling Kerring and causing him to fall down as he back pedals away from the truck.
After opening the driver's door, Kerring grabs a 2x4 from the back of his truck and again tries to make enough noise to scare the bear out of his truck, which he eventually does. The bear is seen running off.
Neither the bear nor Kerring were injured.
