The Young Automotive Group isn't just selling cars these days — they're helping fuel Utah's high-performance culture. Last year, after months of negotiations, the group signed agreements with the manufacturers Shelby-American, Black Widow Trucks and RTR Vehicles, earning rights to sell their signature models at Young Ford's three Utah dealerships in Ogden, Morgan and Brigham City.
Since then, the business has placed several drivers behind the wheel of some of the most sought-after rides on the market, including trucks like the notorious Shelby Super Baja as well as muscle cars like the head-turning Urban Bamboozle RTR Mustang. While their inventory alone has attracted the attention of buyers, what's driven their success has been the way they've engaged with their following.
On Aug. 26 from 5-9 p.m., they'll take that following to the next level with one of the state's most electrifying automotive events of the year — an RTR drift show.
"These vehicles are great to see on the road, but watching them unleash their full potential is an experience unlike any other," said Jake Talbot, general manager of Young Ford Ogden. "It's rare to witness drifting at this level, which makes this a can't-miss event for anyone with an affinity for high-performance vehicles."
Taking place at Young Ford Ogden, the dealership's lot will transform into a high-octane playground, featuring a drift zone, signature models like the Bronco RTR and a talented team of driving professionals. Patrons can expect tire smoke, precision stunts and enough adrenaline to make their hearts race. Fire spinners, a DJ, food trucks, swag giveaways and even RC rock crawler competitions will add to the action as well.
Free to attend, Young Ford has taken several measures to bring patrons close to the action. For five lucky guests though, the night won't just be about watching, as they'll strap in for the ride of a lifetime alongside a professional driver.
"There's nothing like drifting to make you feel like you've been inserted into a scene from a movie," said Kory Martin, general manager of Young Ford Brigham City. "Those who win this will have an incredibly unique opportunity, and we're thrilled to provide them with something they won't forget."
Individuals interested in riding with a drifting professional can enter to be selected through an online form. The winners will be notified through text messages.
In addition to the drifting, the evening will feature one of Young Ford's most meaningful traditions: the First Responder of the Year giveaway. Partnering with the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation, the dealership will award an Ogden city police officer with a cost-free, one-year lease on a 2025 Ford F-150.

"It's a privilege to be able to celebrate another installment of our fantastic partnership with Ogden city," said Kellee Belnap, director of Young Caring for Our Young. "First responders play a remarkable role in developing our communities, and ensuring our safety. We're grateful for the opportunity to be able to honor them this way."
Young Ford's RTR drift event comes at a time of exciting transformation for the dealerships. Recently, their Brigham City location moved into a new facility on 1100 S — a 37,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art building featuring a beautiful showroom and high-tech service area.
Other Young Automotive Group franchises have undergone similar changes this year as well, with both Young Mazda Idaho Falls and Young Subaru moving into new buildings. Additionally, Young Powersports Ogden will relocate from their spot behind the NewGate Mall to a dealership campus on Riverdale Road — next to the new Young Powersports Euro destination.
"The growth taking place across our organization is extraordinary to be a part of," said Curtis Groft, area director at the Young Automotive Group. "We're currently at the forefront of innovation in our industry, and are only at the beginning of what's to come. As we continue to expand, we look forward to hosting more events like this, and further establishing our identity as partners of our community."
