PROVO — It's only 16 days until BYU kicks off the 2025 college football season at LaVell Edwards Stadium, but several key recruits will be on the gridiron on opening weekend of the 2025 Utah high school football season.

The Cougars' No. 20-rated recruiting class in the nation by 247Sports boasts top talent from the west coast, led by Folsom (California) five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons.

If you're looking to keep an early eye on a future Cougar commit, we've got five names that are as good as any to start — including one who may be underrated by the top recruiting services and could play a key role at BYU for years to come.
